Solving the Problem of Accessibility to Math Education
Auburn University and Auburn University at Montgomery Virtual event
Thursday, Dec 3, 2015 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Central Standard Time

The Logan Project is a collaborative effort between the two campuses that comprise the Auburn University system. Both phases of the project will require the expertise of individuals at both campuses. The Logan Project would like to accomplish two interrelated objectives:

Objective 1: to increase our engagement and support of K-12 and postsecondary students with disabilities who are at risk for not persisiting in mathematics and

Objective 2: to develop a My Accessible +Math (MyA+Math) software and hardware assistive techology paltform that has a true Universal Design for Learning. Such software would allow for students who are at risk for not persisting and succeeding in mathematics due to disabilities to be taught inclusively in the general education classroom.

The aim of the event is holding a panel discussion on Math education inclusion. The focus will be on practical strategies and initiatives for giving access to Math education and in general to STEM education.
