Auburn University is offering a 2013 Computer Science For All Girls (CS4ALL-G) in Grades 7-12!

The Auburn University Robo Camp K12 outreach team is offering two CS4ALL-G Camps in July 2012 for girls in grades 7 - 12. Girls with disabilities and underserved are strongly encouraged to apply.

Since 2005, the Robo Camp K12 outreach program has served over 600 children from the Auburn community and surrounding areas. The purpose of the summer 2013 CS4ALL-G Camps is to foster interest in Computer Science among middle and high schools girls (including those with special needs) by providing an engaging and active programming development experience using CS Unplugged (CSU) kinesthetic activities (http://csunplugged.org/) and Microsoft Kodu (http://www.kodugamelab.com/) to teach basic computer programming skills in a fun environment. Prior computing experience is NOT required but we are looking for participants with interest in computing.

The 2013 CS4ALL-G residential Camps will be held on July 14 – 17 and July 21-24 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Shelby Technology Center Lab 2205 & 2210 and the Educational and Assistive Technologies Lab, Shelby Technology Center Lab 2114.

There is no fee for this program, but enrollment is limited to 15 (fifteen) students for each camp. CS4ALL-G Camps are part of a study that looks at different ways to attract girls to computing careers. Each girls and a parent will need to sign a consent form to participate.
